1. Materials.
Choosing the ingredients is an important first step in the process. We use 100% Chinese silk, the kind that long made Shanghai tailors the envy of the world.
-
2. Patterns.
Artisans take my designs and transfer them onto see-through rice paper. This helps guide the sewing team through the all-important job of making each hand-sewn pattern look perfect.
-
3. Shaping.
Silk that will become the interior is cut into sheets for molding later. This process helps form a basis for the comfort that is built into the slippers.
-
4. Cutting.
The material comes into shape as a shoe during the cutting process. Care ensures lines are straight.

5. Soles.
The individual spirit that goes into my slippers extends right to the floor, as leather soles are stitched together.
